Name: Witt's End Community Ecology Walk
Date: July 15, 2017
Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM EDT
Event Description:
Western Foothills Lands Trust is pleased to welcome Maine Master Naturalist Corey Dilts to Shepard's Farm preserve this summer. Maine Master naturalist Corey Dilts spent six months immersed in the forest community at Shepard's Farm, studying flora and fauna on the Witt's End Trail. Throughout the trail, Corey identified several different forest types from a Birch-Oak rocky woodland to a pocket swamp. Each community has its distinct characteristics that were forged through a combination of natural succession and human intervention. Join Corey on Saturday, July 15 as he walks us through these communities and shares what he has learned about the natural history of Shepard's Farm Preserve.

The Witt's End Community Ecology walk with Corey Dilts will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, July 15, 2017, and last until 11 AM. The walk will be free for Western Foothills Land Trust members, a $5 donation is requested from non-members.
